Standard vs. deep cleaning: which one do you need?
The real difference between a standard clean and a deep clean at Brio, what each one covers, and when it's worth booking the deep option.
Both services leave your home clean. The difference is how far we go, and it comes straight from our cleaning checklist.
Standard cleaning
A standard clean is maintenance. Every visit, the team works room by room through the parts of your home you use every day:
- Kitchen counters, sinks, stovetop, and the outside of the appliances
- Full bathroom cleaning: showers and tubs, toilets, sinks, mirrors, and counters
- Dusting surfaces, shelves, light switches, door frames, and blinds
- Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming all floors
- Making beds and taking out the trash
It’s built to keep an already-maintained home consistently fresh, and it’s what most recurring clients book.
Deep cleaning
A deep clean covers everything in a standard clean, then adds the detail work that doesn’t need attention every visit:
- Baseboards hand-detailed throughout the home
- Inside window glass and sills
- Tile and grout scrubbed in the showers and tubs
- Range hood vents cleaned
- Kitchen walls and backsplash spot-cleaned
- Inside furniture vacuumed, such as under seat cushions
- Higher spots reached with a 3-step ladder: fan blades, light fixtures, and the tops of door frames
One thing to know: a deep clean does not include inside the oven, inside the refrigerator, or inside cabinets and drawers. Those are part of our move-in / move-out service, since they really only make sense in an empty home. If you want the oven or fridge done on a deep clean, we offer both as add-ons.
When to choose deep
We recommend starting with a deep clean if:
- It has been more than a month or two since your last professional cleaning
- You’re moving in or out
- You’re getting the house ready for guests or an event
- You’re about to start a recurring plan and want everything at a baseline first
After that first deep clean, a standard clean on a schedule keeps things that way.
Pricing
A standard clean is a true flat rate: the price you’re quoted is the price you pay. A deep clean is quoted as an estimate based on your home’s size and condition, and if it needs more time than expected, the extra time is billed at $125 per hour, prorated. We always tell you before going over.
